Activity: Creativity in Dementia Care – 2 day course, Anam Cara, Inverness – 31st July-1st August

Creativity in Care are running their ‘Creativity in Dementia Care’ course next week in Inverness.  The course is aimed at people interested in working creatively to support meaningful interactions, identity, inclusion and connection for better quality care. Previous courses show that people gain the following benefits:

  • knowledge & understanding about the importance of creativity and learning in dementia care
  • better understanding of person-centred approaches and equalities
  • A six-step B.I.C.E.P.S model for strengthening connections
  • Confidence in creating and using a toolkit of skills and ideas for meaningful interactions
  • Better understanding of the transforming power of love and compassion

The programme is in response to questions from care staff and artists about how to engage with people whose memory, concentration, communication, or ability to make sense of things, is affected by brain disease or long term conditions.

The course costs £200 for two-days, including materials, refreshments & light lunches and is running on Tuesday 31st July  and Wednesday 1st August 2018, 9:30am registration 10 am until 4pm each day at Anam Cara, Inverness IV3 8PN.
