NEWS: Suicide Prevention Week 2022, Get Involved, Gain Skills, Increase Hope!

Suicide Prevention week 2022 starts on Sunday 4th September. MWH are just one of the local mental health partners to be delivering activity this Suicide Prevention week as members of the Moray Making Recovery Real partnership, which includes Health & Social Care Moray, SAMH and many other local organisations. Here are some of the activities you can get involved in, or gain skills and increase hope!

Five ways you can take action in Moray this Suicide Awareness Week…

  1. If you would like to enter a Creative Competition to help design materials that create hope find out details HERE (all ages encouraged)
  2. Share your views by filling out the Moray Suicide Prevention Survey as a community member or for your group , workplace or organisation. Two versions exist – HERE for Google Forms version or for the MS Forms version HERE.
  3. Come along to the Act of Remembrance event in Elgin, it’s free to attend and there is no need to book, just turn up at the Elgin Town Hall from 2pm on Tuesday 6th September.
  4. Moray Wellbeing Hub Champions will be doing our own Walk of Hope on 10th September starting at 5:40am. Yes it’s early, but we will be walking into the dawn (light) and finding hope around suicide, remembering those we lost and in solidarity for those living with suicidal thoughts. You will need to let us know you are coming along HERE but we invite you to come along, bring your friends and family, and walk in hope with us!
  5. Finally, post awareness week on Monday the 12th, Moray Wellbeing Hub are delivering the Suicide Prevention Skills Training (SiPP) workshop, which you can book HERE
