We are very excited to announce some enhancements in the way that Moray Wellbeing Hub CIC is run and managed. Over the past year, more than ever, the importance of our work has been highlighted and this is reflected in the record number of passionate Champions and projects we have focusing on increasing the ‘mental wealth’ of Moray folk.
We felt it was important to expand our team of Directors, to bring in fresh eyes, different strengths and add in extra governance. We had a fantastic response and spent the summer getting to know the applicants through various virtual meet ups, trainings and ideas sharing sessions. Two people were selected to take on the roles, who I am delighted to introduce below;
Rachel Birch – Rachel has a professional background in peer support, education/training, autism consultancy, health and social care management, and organisational leadership. Rachel has lived experience as well as a particular professional interest in the fields of autism and neurodiversity, mental health, and empowering survivors of abuse and trauma. She lives in Speyside with her wife, and can often be found supporting her own wellbeing by zooming about on local trails using her electric skateboard or mountain bike.
Millie McCallion – Millie fell into a career in HR and talent development, due to a natural passion for seeing growth in people’s success and happiness using a strengths-based approach. Aside from workplace and employment topics, other areas she has particular interest and experience in are grief and illness, education and parenthood. She’s always willing to try new things, make new connections and find innovative solutions. Originally from Dorset but now living in Elgin with her husband and son, she loves to be out in nature or cooking at home.
But we are not done there! Having seen the amazing talent out there and not wanting to let any brilliant people pass us by, we created a new group of people called “Experteers” and opened the application process to the wider champion community. The goal of this group is to provide a strong link between the Director group and the champions, balancing interests and priorities and offering sound advice and expertise when a wider view is needed.
We appointed 4 initial experteers who have wasted no time at all in getting stuck in and are already adding fantastic value. With skills as varied as data analytics, research, community engagement, clerical administration we know we are in great hands.
As well as ongoing leadership, these teams will specifically be working on streamlining and optimising our processes and tools, so that people can focus on what they do best whilst feeling connected, hopeful, a strong sense of identity, meaningful and empowered.
