The ALLIANCE Scotland Reducing Gambling Harm programme are inviting you to our event ‘Gambling, Gaming and Young People’

The ALLIANCE Digital Gathering offers opportunities for hundreds of delegates to engage and discuss pertinent issues in health, social care, and more. With people’s lived experience at its heart, our 2022 event is designed to build connections and inspire.

In 2022 we will celebrate Scotland’s Year of Stories. Other themes include women’s health, human rights, mental health, and the proposed new National Care Service. Contributions include high profile keynote speakers, interactive sessions, podcasts, writing and storytelling workshops, networking, and lots more.

Our session “Gambling, Gaming and Young People” will include presentations from Fast Forward and Young Scot on findings from the ALLIANCE’s young people survey, produced in partnership with both organisations which aims to gain an understanding of young people’s views of gambling and gaming activities. These findings hope to strengthen the case for a Scottish Youth Commission into Gambling Harms.

The session will also include a presentation of research from Dr Joanne Lloyd from the University of Wolverhampton which will highlight the risks associated with online gaming and loot boxes.

As well as presentations, there will also be an opportunity for wider group discussions around the risks associated with gambling, gaming and young people.

We hope to see you there!
