Do you experience chronic pain*?

Register interest NOW! – Wellbeing sessions for those with chronic pain.

Join us on a fully funded course to help you feel more connected, hopeful and empowered. Venue to be decided.

Sessions will start the week commencing 6th Feb 23 and run 8 weeks. These 1.5h sessions will draw from Living Life to the Full and our CHIME for Wellbeing courses.

Early bird registration will help confirm;

  • format – in-person (Elgin), online or hybrid.
  • session time – morning, afternoon or evening

Registering interest will close on 9am 30th Jan 23. Full course booking will open later the same day with those registering interest having first option to spaces.

Due to the short timescale we will support those wishing to join after the course has commenced through 1-2-1 support.

*Chronic or persistent pain is pain that carries on for longer than 12 weeks despite medication or treatment. You do not require a medical diagnosis to attend sessions, just a willingness to learn in a peer-led environment.

These sessions are subject to funding being confirmed. We will endeavour to find alternative courses if the funds are not confirmed for delivery.

About our wellbeing course resources:

Gain new tools, explore your mental health and what is meaningful for you in a non-judgemental group space. Sessions are delivered by our skilled peer-trainers – people who use the techniques themselves and are trained to support and inspire you to create change.

  • Living Life To The Full (LLTTF) is a self-help CBT* based course which aims to give you the skills to gain better control of your life, feel less stressed and more able to cope with challenges.
  • CHIME for Wellbeing is a creative workshop experience led by those who use the approaches in their own lives. Together we will explore wellness planning tools, share ideas and support, explore self-management and create a plan for crisis.

Recognising that people are experts on themselves, participants learn approaches in a creative, relaxed atmosphere. The approach can work with all ages, however these workshops will be an adult learning space open to those over 16 who feel able to be part of a group environment.

Personal or professional development:
This is a personal development space, no roles, no lanyards, only first names. It is not suitable for those wishing to attend as part of professional development only, for example to deliver or cascade in their working life. However, Moray Wellbeing Hub is delighted to support those who attend and enjoy the course who may wish to become facilitators with us the future and support delivery. If unsure please contact us.

Session outcomes:

  • Connection: Better able to accept support from others and increased knowledge of local support and services.
  • Hope: More hopeful about the future.
  • Identity: Increased sense of wellbeing.
  • Meaning: Increase a sense of control and ability to make decisions about the future.
  • Empowerment: Increased knowledge and skills to self-manage health.
