How can we know that local interventions are working to address household food insecurity?

A workshop exploring ways to measure and monitor food insecurity at the local authority level

As local authorities and local third sector organisations continue to draft and enact plans for tackling food insecurity in their communities, we are running this workshop to explore how we can move towards a better understanding of which interventions work to address food insecurity at a local level, with a particular focus on measuring and monitoring food insecurity.

The aims of the workshop are:

  • Discuss reasons for measuring and monitoring food insecurity at the local level and approaches for doing so.
  • Hear from local councils and local food poverty alliances about how food insecurity measurement can contribute to better understanding the problem of food insecurity in their local areas and impacts of local-level interventions.
  • Chart potential actions to move towards measurement and monitoring in local authorities.

The workshop will be held online using Zoom on Monday 27th June, from 9.30am-12.30pm. You can book your place here.

You will be sent a Zoom link for joining the workshop in the days before it takes place. There is no cost for attending.
