NEWS: Share Your Experience Of Weight Stigma With Public Health Scotland

MWH Admin TeamCampaign, News

Share your experience of weight stigma in health and social care settings.

Public Health Scotland are looking for people with lived experience of weight stigma, and health and social care professionals, to share their experience to inform the development of an ‘Addressing Weight Stigma’ e-Learning resource.

The e-Learning resource will include a number of fictional scenarios that draw from both people with lived experience of obesity/higher body weight and health and social care professionals.

PHS are looking for people to submit a brief description of around 200-300 words. You do not need to worry about scripting something perfectly; you just need to describe what happened, how it made you feel, and what happened as a consequence.

You can submit your experience of one of the following situations:

  • People with lived experience of obesity/higher body weight
  • Experience from a health and social care professional

For more information, visit www.alliance-scotland.org.uk

The deadline for submission is Wednesday 11 August. All stories and contributions will be handled with the utmost respect, sensitivity, and confidentiality.

Responses can be submitted via an anonymised online form.

Alternatively, you can email your response, or submit any questions or comments to Dr Suzanne Connolly: suzanne.connolly4@phs.scot
