Iriss has recently shared a range of interesting articles and findings relating to Covid-19 in the care and support arena. One of which is the Impact of Covid-19 on care home residents. The full report of Chief Scientists Office funded research to explore the impact of COVID-19 visiting restrictions on the relatives of care homes in Scotland, has been made available.
Carried out between May and October 2020, the research sought to understand the psychological impact of visiting restrictions on the families of older care home residents. It also explored the changing roles of staff, the creative and relationship-based practices that made a difference for families, and the role of digital technology in this.
As well as the report, there are a number of blogs and Iriss.fm episodes which provide insight into the experiences of families and residents.
