Date: Tuesday 23 February 2021 – 18:30 to 19:30
Venue: Online
Organiser: Rural Youth Project

The Scottish Rural Network’s “Rural Youth Café” returns on Tuesday 23rd February from 6.30pm with a very special one-hour session, joined by the Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Kate Forbes and the new Minister for Rural Affairs and the Natural Environment, Ben Macpherson.

Both taking on senior leadership roles at a young age, and still only in their 30s, they have a real passion for supporting young people and rural communities.

They will share their journey from grassroots to government, and how they ensure the rural voice is heard.

And if that isn’t exciting enough…..the Rural Youth Project Smart Village will be revealed for the very first time.

This “world-first” youth-centric Smart Village, developed in partnership with Smart Village Scotland and the Rural Youth Project Digital Champions, and funded by LEADER, provides a platform for young people to collaboratively build vibrant, creative, and sustainable rural economies in the places they call home.

You will find out what the platform offers, how you can get involved and why the Rural Youth Project Smart Village is the biggest news for rural this year!

The evening is open to anyone, and questions for the Ministers should be submitted in advance. Only questions from rural youth will be accepted to make sure this evening is all about the amazing young people in rural Scotland.
