Build back better for mental health

What does a recovery mind-set have to offer as we navigate Covid-19 and plan for a better future for Scotland’s mental health and wellbeing?

Developed from conversations at the Scottish Recovery Network cafes, these resources highlight the need for lived experience, peer support and communities to be at the heart of creating and delivering mental health support.

Lived experience and peer support needs to move into the mainstream of our mental health and wellbeing support systems. Through this people in communities across Scotland will be able to access the support they need, when they need it and where they need it.

The Build back better report and animation tap into the knowledge, skills and lived experience of people across Scotland; particularly those living with mental health challenges. It is important that their experiences and voices influence thinking around how we support good mental health and wellbeing now and as we ‘build back better’.
