EVENT: Make Autism Visible (MAV) in Moray, AGM – 7 October, 6pm

MAV would like to invite all adults with autism, or with an interest in autism, to join them at their AGM on the 7th October at 6pm online via Zoom to help MAV continue to develop in Moray.

Make Autism Visible (MAV) is a Moray-based group run by and for adults with autism to provide a variety of social opportunities. Common challenges for autistic people can include: difficulties with communication; building relationships; and developing support networks. MAV has been running several groups over a number of years covering a range of interests including, a cinema group, a lunch club, a games group, a music group, a walking group, a book group and a women’s group. The groups work well to create a safe environment for adults with autism as members know that everyone who attends has similar issues.

All groups except the book group and the women’s group, whose members currently meet online via Zoom, remain on hold in response to the Covid-19 restrictions.

The existing board members are hoping that others, both with and without autism, will be willing to attend and take an active role in the future running of the group. A chair person is currently needed, along with a fundraiser and others willing to take on the running of some of the groups.

Anyone wishing to attend should email: makeautismvisible@yahoo.com
