SURVEY: Discussion on if there is need for a Veterans Activity Centre in Forres at the former Leanchoil Hospital site

MWH Admin TeamNews, Survey

Earlier this year the Leanchoil Trust, Forres Area Community Trust and tsiMORAY hosted a meeting at Forres Town Hall to explore the potential, and gauge community support for, a Community Asset Transfer of Leanchoil Hospital into Community Ownership. As part of the discussion, the idea of a Veterans Activity Centre in the building was proposed.

Following on from this meeting Erskine, the Scottish Charity that offers support to veterans, is considering developing a new Veterans Activity Centre at the former hospital site at Leanchoil Hospital in Forres, Moray.

The centre will provide services and activities with the aim of improving the quality of life and well-being for veterans.  It will provide a centre where veterans can socialise, develop new skills and be able to relax in an environment focused and designed especially around their needs.  It will give them the chance to meet like-minded people, learn a new skill such as computing or a new hobby, take part in various activities or access services that they need.

This is a fantastic potential opportunity for all ex-Service men and women.

This survey asks a range of questions to see if there is a need for the Centre, whether you support its development and if so what activities you would like to see included.

The survey can be accessed here:  https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/erskine-veterans-centre

The closing date for the survey is the 12th October.
