Nearly a quarter of people in Scotland (23%) don’t feel comfortable speaking about mental health in their community, and  for many people their communities have now moved online. Whether it’s work, social, clubs, education and even health care, we are all having to engage with people in a completely different way, which can make it even harder to talk about how you are feeling.

It has been the mission of See Me over this summer to make people feel they’re not alone and like there is no where to speak about mental health, that’s why they’ve created the Anti-Stigma Summer Sessions. A series of events which were designed to bring people together online, to chat about mental health and to work together to challenge stigma and discrimination, using art, poetry, community activism, story sharing and more. For an overview of what wonderful things have been done and will be done during the Anti-Stigma Summer Sessions, have a look here.

“A recent poll found that 55% of people in Scotland felt confident to challenge stigma and discrimination, and when asked why, 33% said it was due to hearing other people speak out.”
