MWH Admin TeamNews

In the latest ALLIANCE Live podcast, produced by the Health and Social Care Academy programme, Morven Brooks, Chief Executive of Disability Equality Scotland, describes the results of the survey, the impact on disabled people’s lives of living through a pandemic and some of their experiences.

The survey, which generated more than 900 responses, was carried out in collaboration with the Mobility and Access Committee for Scotland (MACS) and considered issues experienced whilst physical distancing. Key concerns include:

  • Infrastructure, with pavements not being wide enough and pavement parking.
  • Challenges related to food shopping.
  • The poll also revealed unhelpful comments, and in some cases hate crimes, being committed against disabled people.
