NEWS: Personal Protective Equipment access for unpaid carers UPDATE!

MWH Admin TeamNews

Unpaid carers of all ages, who are providing personal care or need to be within the 2m ‘safe zone’ to those they care for, can request Personal Protective Equipment.

As of May 6th, unpaid carers don’t necessarily need to be providing personal care in order to be eligible for access to Personal Protective Equipment, you only need to be doing something that brings you within the 2m ‘safe zone’ of the cared for.  This will include helping up/down from a chair, supporting eating/drinking, tidying a bed, ANYTHING that means they’ll be unable to maintain 2m distance.

This is a significant change to previous policy and it will mean more carers being eligible for Personal Protective Equipment.

Personal Protective Equipment can be requested via Quarriers Carer Support Service in Moray, who will gather the required information to pass on to the Moray PPE Hub, who will provide the Personal Protective Equipment by contacting the carer to arrange collection, where possible.  If collection is not possible alternative arrangements will be made.

The service will remain open for carers, you can get in touch by calling 01343 556031, or emailing carersmoray@quarriers.org.uk leaving your name and telephone number so you can be called back.

Keep up the good work and keep safe!
