Activity: Champion recommendations for gentle Dru Yoga class in Forres and Findhorn.
Finding a physical wellbeing class you can attend as someone with long term conditions or anxiety is a challenge. Will it be too difficult or unwelcoming? How can we know a friendly face will welcome us?
At Moray Wellbeing Hub we like to share awareness of classes that our Champions have found to be a welcoming and supportive space for those who struggle more than others to attend a class. We also like to link up Champions who attend these with folk who might want to go and would like a wee chat before with a friendly fellow student.
This week we are sharing the Dru Yoga class with Eva. We know a few Champions attend this very gentle and welcoming class. There is one in a Tuesday day time in Forres at 9.15am and one a Wednesday evening at 6.45pm in Findhorn.
One of our Champions shares, “I have a habit of over doing things or feeling like I can’t keep up. The other class members and Eva stop this happening. It’s reassuring and feels safe to say ‘no’ or ask for help. She always builds up to a movement or offers an option with a chair. I’ve tried other yoga classes but this one suits me.”
Eva is looking for new students especially for her Wednesday night class in Findhorn 6.45pm. If you are interested to try it out give her a call for a chat and to discuss cost as she has a scale for those on lower incomes. If you are nervous a Champion from Moray Wellbeing Hub is happy to meet you at the session as a friendly face and fellow student – just contact us if you are interested.
Eva says:
Please join me at my Dru yoga classes WEDNESDAY EVENINGS in the SUNSHINE ROOM IN THE FINDHORN FOUNDATION (IV36 3TY). Doors opens at 18:30. Please note you will have to take off the shoes as soon as you enter the door.

What does ‘Dru’ mean?
Dru comes from the Sanskrit word dhruva, which refers to the stillness that can be experienced in Dru Yoga and Dru Meditation. In this
stillness we are able to sit back from anything that may be happening around us and see and act from a point of clarity and inner calm.
What is unique about Dru Yoga?
* Joints are kept relaxed and soft during movement (as in tai chi). This creates flexibility and a free flow of subtle energy. * Energy Block Release sequences (EBRs) are easy-to-practise, flowing movements that help to release tension physically, mentally and
emotionally. * In Dru Yoga all movements originate from the spine because a flexible, healthy spine supports your entire yoga practice.
* The spinal wave and spinal twist are core features of Dru, enhancing spinal health and vitality. * A deep understanding of core stability is a major focus.
If you have a class you love and want to introduce other people to, please send your thoughts to us and we will share them in the future.
