****Volunteers Needed Please****

Forres Men’s Shed are one of the very few volunteer groups locally, that will be doing something to help support isolated people this holiday season. They will be running a soup kitchen at St. Leonard’s Church Hall on  28th December (maybe the 27th also, TBC) between 10.00 am and 3.00 pm. Providing free soup and coffee for the lonely and isolated Men, Women and children over the Christmas period for those of Forres, create a sense of purpose for members of men’s shed and promote connection with the wider community, enable those in food poverty to have a hot meal.
They are needing some volunteer helpers to achieve their very important task of connecting isolated locals and helping out in the kitchen, serving etc. At this time they have about four volunteers for no specific task at the moment.
They will need volunteers to make soup (ingredients supplied) although these people don’t necessarily have to be in the kitchen if they don’t want to. On the menu so far:

1 x Chicken Broth,
1 x Red Pepper and Tomato,
1 x Parsnip,
1 x Mushroom,
1 x Borsch,
1 x Lentil (TBC)

If you could offer something different to the above please get in touch with them.

They also need people to help with serving tea, coffee and soup, a door person to receive donations and raffle sellers.
Last year they served more than 100 people over the two days and went through ten pans of soup. This year is expected rot be even busier as word spreads, so as many volunteers as possible would be greatly appreciated so people don’t go hungry.
Please get in touch with David or Tony to show your support and offer a helping hand!
