Support in Mind Scotland provides support for people whose lives are affected by mental health problems or illness. We do this throughout Scotland, by offering a range of services to people directly affected by a mental health issue and to those who care for them, whether family, friends or supporter.

About the role:

The Rural Campaign Manager will take a lead role in scoping what support there is for businesses and organisations to tackle mental health in rural Scotland.

The Manager will be responsible for interacting with members of the National Rural Mental Health Forum, scope what support is available, explore and find out what different support is needed, identify business support leads, develop coordinated messages for a campaign using different media

The Rural Campaign Manager will work with the Convener of the National Rural Mental Health Forum to develop a national campaign:

Key outcomes expected are:

  • Develop a working Group of key representative stakeholders (e.g. Economy, Business, Health, Community…)
  • Specifically focus on business support organisations/networks – identify a business support ‘lead’ (some areas of rural economy will be most affected by Brexit – prepare for impact on employment)
  • Establish 6-month campaign over the winter 2019/spring 2020 with lead in and follow up/evaluation
  • Work as a digital champion and information officer

The post is for 21 hours per week but this is negotiable and the working hours can be adjusted for the suitable candidate.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a dynamic and creative campaign manager with experience of planning, leading and assessing the impact of a campaign or a project. The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of rural issues and policies as well as a sound understanding of mental illness. They will be a great communicator, comfortable working with and reporting to various stakeholders. The candidate will also be confident in working with Microsoft software and mail-merging.
