LEAD Scotland have launched a new campaign today to help widen access to university for disabled people. They need your support and have an online petition you can sign today.
Disabled people in Scotland can face multiple barriers in trying to access university. Students along with their families tell us that inadequate additional support to learn at school, interruption to school education from serious illness, and inability to re-locate due to complex needs are just some of the issues that can have an impact on their chances of going to university.
If universities considered the background and circumstances of disabled applicants during the admissions process like they do for other groups of students, they may have a fairer chance of getting in.
Please sign the petition and comment to show your support, thank you!
