Do you know any 11 to 25 year olds who would benefit from participation?   Youth Voice for Moray want to hear from ALL young people, but especially those who may not always put themselves forward.

Young people aged 11-25 are invited to put themselves forward to be considered for a place on the new Youth Voice Forum for Moray!  They will actively engage in solutions to the issues facing young people in our Local Authority area.

There will be a total of 30 positions available, 2 representatives from each of the different groups:

  • Speyside High School
  • Milnes High School
  • Elgin High School
  • Elgin Academy
  • Forres Academy
  • Lossiemouth High School
  • Keith Grammar
  • Buckie High School
  • Care experience/young carers
  • College Students
  • Armed Forces
  • Disability
  • Tsi Moray/Volunteering
  • Health & Wellbeing
  • LGBTQI

Our elected members of the Scottish Youth Parliament will also be part of the group.  This is not an exhaustive list and, once in post, the young people will shape the group to what they feel it needs.

The closing date for applications is Friday 22ndSeptember 2019 at 5pm.

To apply – all applicants should send an email to debi.weir@moray.gov.uk , they will then be invited to provide a statement in 200 words why they should be elected as part of the Youth Voice for Moray.  They should also give their full name, age, school if relevant and group(s) they wish to represent.  Young people can put themselves forward as a representative for several groups but can only be elected in one seat.

All applicants will then be invited to present their ideas and pitch for votes at a market stall event on Monday 30th September 2019, The Mansefield Hotel, Elgin (times to be confirmed nearer the date).

An online vote will take place on Friday 4th October 2019 from 9am-4pm and the elected members will be advised asap after the vote.

The group elected will take part in essential training and teambuilding in October and November, whilst designing the format for the Youth Voice which is set to be launched in January 2020!.
