News: Coping with stress during exams. Scottish Association for Mental Health campaign, “Testing Times”.

Jim McCullochCampaign, News

SAMH (Scottish Association for Mental Health) has launched a new campaign ‘Testing Times’ to raise awareness about anxieties around school exam time and ways to de-stress.

Last week SAMH launched their new campaign to help young people cope with exam time anxiety.  Testing Times is highlighting the anxieties around exam time with the help of some familiar faces.  X-Factor finalist Nicky McDonald, Mental Health Minister Clare Haughey, and Suki Wan MSYP have all shared videos highlighting their own personal experiences of anxiety.

Through this campaign, SAMH hope to make sure that young people can learn about mental health and wellbeing so that they can look after themselves and ask for help when they need it.  SAMH also want everyone with a role in a young person’s life – parents, teachers, sports coaches and youth workers – to feel confident that they can help just by being open and supportive.  They’d love it if you could help support the campaign by:

  • Downloading their top tips on exam stress at samh.org.uk
  • Follow #TestingTimes on social media and sharing our posts
  • Sharing your own video or blog talking about anxiety and how to manage it.
