Event: All welcome at ‘Time to Talk’ day at Moray College and Elgin Town Hall, 7th February 2019

HeidiEvent

With local partners Moray College, HISA, Health & Social Care Moray, tsiMORAY and national organisation See Me, we are hosting some events on national Time To Talk day, 7th February 2019. The aim of the day is to recognise what it takes to make a conversation on mental health and in our usual style our Champions are ready to chat!

Not only will we run a talk and conversation cafe at the college where all are welcome to attend, students and the wider Moray College community, but then we then go on to run a pop-up cafe to support ‘Completing the Puzzle’ at the Elgin Town Hall, – an event for groups and services to have a chat and promote what they do, creating a directory for Moray in the process.

“It might be a trip to the gym with a friend, chatting on the treadmill, it could be getting tea and cake and booking a room in your work, or you might want to grab some wellies, a dog (your own preferably) and get out for a walk with a pal. You can start preparing now, what are the ingredients needed for your conversation?”

Here is the running order for the day…

  • 10am – 11am Mental health awareness talk, learn how to be a better support to yourself and others.
  • 11am-1pm Conversation cafe – pop along and have a chat about mental health and wellbeing with our Champions. What is mental health anyway? How do people make a difference to it? Where can you go for info and advice in Moray? How can you help have positive conversations that support others?
  • 12.30pm-3pm: Completing the Puzzle pop-up cafe – Communicate, promote your group and connect over a cuppa!
