MWH Admin TeamNews, Report

The Health and Social Care Academy have launched a new report about ‘Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and Transformation’ in collaboration with ALLIANCE and the Scottish Community Safety Network;

Adverse childhood experiences, or ACEs, are harmful events that negatively impact a child’s mental, physical, or emotional wellbeing. ACEs include childhood experiences of abuse or neglect, as well as exposure to household dysfunction such as parental imprisonment or domestic abuse,” – with thanks to ALLIANCE.

This paper explores the research surrounding adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and Scotland’s response to this concept. Developing an informed approach to ACEs has the potential to radically transform health and social care in Scotland. The following pages identify some of the challenges and opportunities that Scotland will encounter on this journey,” – with thanks to the Health and Social Care Academy.

You can find more information about the report from the ALLIANCE website, along with the Scottish Community Safety Network partnership screening of the film ‘Resilience‘.
