News: Feels FM – the world’s first emoji powered jukebox for mental health!

SeeMe have announced a new young people’s campaign called ‘Feels FM‘ which launches next month, giving young people the chance to be part of the biggest conversation Scotland has seen on mental health, and the possibility of getting a £1000 grant!

Everyone has feelings, everyone has mental health, and most people listen to music. There’s a strong link between how we’re feeling and the music we listen to. Sometimes when we’re sad we listen to sad songs, to help us through and other times when we’re sad we listen to happy tunes to “turn the car around”.

Feels FM – the world’s first emoji powered jukebox for mental health!

Feels FM is an online platform to help young people express their feelings, use music as a positive coping strategy, and find new ways to talk about mental health stigma and discrimination.

How does Feels FM work?

  1. Pick an emoji that represents how you currently feel.
  2. Feels FM will make a music playlist that reflects that feeling.
  3. Interact with the site.

Share Feels FM using #FeelsFM.

Alongside the online platform, young people have also helped SeeMe put together a Feels FM Activity which brings Feels FM to life so it can be used to support young people to have conversations about mental health.

See Me are looking for organisations who engage with young people to run Feels FM activities across our campaign period from 18th September through till 14th October.

The pack is great for youth, community, or school groups, and we will give you everything you need! All you need to do is visit their website and put your order in and they’ll pop a pack in the post for you, or you can download it from the site.

Take action by holding Feels FM Activities to find out what would make a difference to young people’s mental health in Scotland. They’ll pick the best idea and make it happen by giving you a £1000 grant!

The deadline for ordering packs is 1st October.
