Activity: Invitation for Volunteers to join the RCPsych in Scotland Executive Committee

The Royal College of Psychiatrists is seeking volunteers to join the RCPsych in Scotland Executive Committee.  They are looking for two Service User Representatives. Applications are invited from individuals who have personal experience of using mental health services.

If you are a Moray Wellbeing Hub Champion and are thinking of applying for this do let us know if you would be willing to feedback about your experiences if you should be luck enough to be chosen.

RCPsych in Scotland represents the Members, Fellows, Associates and Pre-Membership Trainees of the College in Scotland at the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Through the Chair, the RCPsych in Scotland is represented on the Council and other Committees. There are also representatives on the College Specialist Training Committee and Policy and Public Affairs Committee. The Executive Committee decide on and organise various workstreams and actively encourage service users and carers to contribute to these – e.g. policy and public affairs functions, recruitment and retention. Service User and Carer representative input is vital to the work of the College in Scotland and provides an important lived experience viewpoint. Representatives are encouraged to participate in pieces of work which are relevant to their particular areas of interest.

The Executive Committee meets 4 times per year in Edinburgh. Dates for 2018 are listed below. All meetings run from 14.00-16.30.

Applicants should be able to adhere to the College’s Travel and Subsistence Policy to attend the relevant meetings. Travel and subsistence payments will be made including hotel costs if necessary and based on the level of involvement and the required effort, the College also remunerates for the time invested.
