News: ‘Getting It Right For Every Child’ – new resources announced for GIRFEC

The Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (ALLIANCE) have a project called ‘Getting to Know Getting it Right for Every Child’  which is aimed at raising awareness of ‘Getting It Right For Every Child’ (GIRFEC) for disabled children and those living with long-term conditions, as well as their parents and carers.

They do this by holding training and information sessions for practitioners, parents, carers, children and young people – outlining what ‘Getting it Right for Every Child’ should mean for them in practice and empowering parents, carers, children and young people to access and influence the support they need to achieve their desired outcomes.

The project works on a cascading model, meaning the ALLIANCE provides all of their resources and presentations free of charge. They also work with organisations who work closely with children, young people and their parents or carers, providing free training and policy updates.

GIRFEC is the national approach in Scotland to improving outcomes and supporting the wellbeing of our children and young people by offering the right help at the right time from the right people.  It supports them and their parent(s) to work in partnership with the services that can help them.
