The Phoenix Centre in Buckie is holding a Wellbeing Open Day for the launch of Mental Health Awareness Week focusing on Stress. The staff at the Phoenix Centre would be delighted if you could join them.

Chronic stress increases the risk of addictive and damaging behaviour, of developing anxiety, depression and other mental and physical health problems. The Open Day will focus on how Outside Services and Groups attending the Phoenix Centre can help manage and reduce stress-related illnesses.

Steps to take when feeling Stressed: (outside services)

  1. Realise when it is causing a problem – Penumbra, Wellness Centre
  2. Identify the causes – Arrows, Smart Recovery.
  3. Review your lifestyle – Phoenix, Employment Support, Health Point.

Steps to help protect from stress: (wellbeing groups)

  1. Healthy eating – Foodbank.
  2. Be aware of smoking/drinking – Acupuncture.
  3. Exercise – Yoga.
  4. Time out – Phoenix Scribblers, Creativity Group.
  5. Be mindful – Community Group.
  6. Restful sleep – Alternative Therapies.
