News: AMINA Launch Self-care Manual for Women

AdminNews

The Muslim Women’s Resource Centre (AMINA) have published a self-care manual for women.

The self-care manual is designed to support women in establishing and maintaining an approach to self-care that fits with their life circumstances, strengths, challenges and needs.

This manual is for all women. However, it has been developed with the following audiences in mind:

  • Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) women
  • Women who have experienced trauma and/or domestic abuse
  • Women who would like to become group facilitators

The work of Amina is underpinned by the principles of community empowerment, participation and partnerships. They are leading specialists in supporting minority ethnic and Muslim women and are recognised by minority ethnic communities within Scotland for their pioneering work.

They deliver a range of services including a National Helpline, Befriending, Refugee Support, Employability, and campaigning against Islamaphobia. The Violence Against Women Programme has created a platform for minority ethnic and Muslim women to speak out against issues such as domestic abuse and honour-based violence, and has created a safe, healing space for hundreds of women across Scotland through the delivery of their self-care workshops.
