Report: SCN Event Report: Evaluating Co-production

MWH Admin TeamReport

If you have been to any Moray Wellbeing Hub event you may well have heard the phrase ‘co-production’ and perhaps have been wondering just exactly what that means.

A recent event hosted by the Scottish Co-production Network (SCN) and Evaluation Support Scotland aimed to take a closer look at the evaluation of co-production and what it really means to work in this way.

If you want to read more about co-production take a look at this SCN webpage: What is Co-production?

Co-production essentially describes a relationship between service provider and service user that draws on the knowledge, ability and resources of both to develop solutions to issues that are claimed to be successful, sustainable and cost-effective, changing the balance of power from the professional towards the service user. The approach is used in work with both individuals and communities.

The learning event brought together more than 30 SCN members to discuss how, and why, we should evaluate co-production.

The report from the day gives an insight into the discussion and the inputs from SCN members who shared how they are evaluating their own co-production processes, sharing what worked and where the challenges lie.
