News: Massive health impact of combating isolation with community connection

If you have not already read this article from The Guardian we strongly encourage you to give it a look. Impressive results have been achieved by taking an approach close to our hearts at the hub – looking at people from a strengths-based view, connecting them based on interest and involving both paid and volunteer skilled community members.

What this provisional data appears to show is that when isolated people who have health problems are supported by community groups and volunteers, the number of emergency admissions to hospital falls spectacularly.

With such projects gaining higher profiles nationally we hope this can help us with our aim to make a similar approach work in Moray.
