Survey: Research study on identity and wellbeing amongst Muslims – volunteers needed

AdminNews, Survey

Karim Mitha is examining the role religious identity can play in coping with issues of acculturation, discrimination, and mental ill health – particularly amongst Muslim communities in Scotland.

As part of his research he has been meeting with Muslim doctors and religious leaders and also with third-sector charities to understand what may be issues in terms of mental health promotion and how best to cater to mental health needs amongst the Muslim community in Scotland. Additionally, he is also recruiting Muslims with lived experience of mental ill health to participate in order to showcase the “authentic voice” and “lived experience” to truly understand coping strategies and frameworks that may be used.
