Survey: Public Life Matters 2017 – New Questionnaire: How do people with mental health issues get involved in the community?

MWH Admin TeamSurvey

VOX Scotland need your help in answering some important questions:

Do people with lived experience of mental illness want to become more involved in their communities? If so, in what roles? And do you feel there is anything getting in the way of their doing so? When we talk about “getting involved in the public life of your community” we mean either in an employed capacity or as a volunteer. It could be anything from joining the board of your children’s school to helping out at a local charity or community group. It might mean getting involved in politics by helping with a campaign or standing for election as an elected member in your local authority or maybe even standing as an MP or MSP.

Whether or not you are personally interested in getting more involved in your community they would really like to hear from you. If you’re already involved but you feel there are things getting in the way or holding you back from engaging further, they would really like to hear about that too.

It’s important that any concerns you have that might be preventing you, or others, from taking a more active role in your community are heard. You can take part by filling in the survey at www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/publiclife it takes about 15 minutes to complete. You do not have to give your name and it is entirely up to you whether you wish to take part.

If you would like more information before deciding to take part please contact: Voices of Experience (VOX) by emailing info@voxscotland.org.uk
