The Moray Wellbeing Hub are excited about this upcoming event and will be along to encourage wellness chat and enjoy ourselves- hope to see you there!

What is The Big Lunch?

It is nationwide community building event that last year attracted over 7 million people to take part. Across the UK at the same time, folk will be taking over town halls, streets, parks and their homes with bunting, tea, music and bringing food to share – to celebrate the magic of community in the form of neighbourhood street parties and dedicated get-togethers.

Research statistics conducted by hosts, the Eden Project in Cornwall, show that it has been a huge success in strengthening local relationships, that neighbours have, via this event, created new and lasting, social connections that are the foundations of a thriving and resilient community.

It has positively tackled social isolation and such activities are widely evidenced to show a positive impact on our mental health.

It is not reinventing the wheel, it is a time for it to roll healthily!

Locally the Big Lunch is being hosted at Transition Town in Forres on Sunday 18th June from 1pm to 4pm.
