Conversation Cafe - Making Recovery Real in Moray

Conversation Cafe – Making Recovery Real in Moray

Making Recovery Real in Moray was launched nearly 2 years ago at an event in Recovery Café event held in Elgin in June 2017.  A lot has happened in the last two years, not least the publication of a new mental health strategy for Moray – “Good Mental Health for ALL in Moray”.

One of the key objectives of this new 10-year strategy is to “improve the quality of life of those experiencing mental health problems by developing a strengths based, recovery orientated metal health system and services”. The Making Recovery Real action plan now forms an integral part of the delivery plan for the new strategy and in particular the aim of “embedding the principles and values of recovery in policy, commissioning and service planning and delivery”.

The Conversation cafe event being held in Elgin Town Hall on 11th May will provide participants with an opportunity to hear more about the work of the Making Recovery Real Partnership over the last two years and its plans for the future.  The event is for anyone who has a professional or personal interest in mental health, wellbeing and recovery.

While people are free to drop into the event on the day, if you are planning to attend it would be a big help if you could register so that we have an idea of expected numbers for catering etc.  You can register to attend online here or by sending me an e-mail – robert.stevenson@scottishrecovery.net

There will be a marketplace with information stalls at the event. If you would like a stall or know of any service or organisation that may be interested in having a stall, please let me know.

I hope to see you at the event on 11th May. I would also be grateful if you could share the details of this event with anyone else you think may be interested.

The event poster can be downloaded here ( From Surviving to Thriving-1), or printed copies can be collected from tsiMORAY’s offices in Elgin.

Best wishes,

Robert Stevenson
