News: New Veterans First Point Grampian service

AdminUncategorized

This is not a Moray Wellbeing Hub organised service, however we hope to work in partnership with this new service and will keep you posted on our blog about any updates such as having them along to give an awareness talk to our Champions. If you have a particular interest in working with the issues highlighted in this story, please get in touch.

The new Veterans First Point Grampian service, a one-stop shop for veterans and their families.  The service will be up and running very soon and will be holding drop in sessions at Moray Resource Centre in Elgin and Rosemount Community Centre in Aberdeen, days and times to be confirmed.  Although the drop ins won’t be running until February they will be able to start accepting referrals immediately.
The service can be accessed by telephone or email and once registered veterans and family members can attend one of the drop in centres. Veterans can self-refer or be referred by family or friends. They are also happy to accept referrals from medical professionals and any other services.
They aim to provide a comprehensive service including:

  • Information and signposting
  • Understanding and listening
  • Support and social networking
  • Health and wellbeing including a comprehensive mental health service delivered by a multi-professional team

The service they provide is free at the point of access and provided as part of the NHS.
The service is open to veterans (and reservists) who have served one day in HM forces, as well as their family members and bereaved (family members) that have lost a loved one who served.

If you have any questions regarding the service, would like them to attend team meetings to provide more information or would like to refer a veteran, please contact Paula by e-mail or phone 01224 557695
