Action: VoX recruiting for members across Scotland.

AdminUncategorized

VoX, Voices of eXperience, Scotlands national mental health collective advocacy group needs new members to help guide it and strengthen its work.  It would be great if more people in Moray wanted to get involved and help create change with their experiences and opinions for the whole of Scotland’s benefit. Let us know your thoughts on this as we build our own local collective voice for mental health and wellbeing.

Information from VoX:

VOX is changing and evolving, and we need your help.  We need an even stronger ‘voice’, and more diverse, but still respected, and welcomed to the table.  We are currently in the process of securing future funding (not an easy task in this day and age), and ‘numbers’ count I fear.  As an upside, the ‘numbers’ strengthen and vary our voice.  We are led and governed by those with (past or present) Mental Ill Health; it’s the only criteria of Membership. You can be as involved as little or much as you wish and are comfortable with and your voice and membership will be valued and add to our strengths.  But we do need you.  Membership is free, and you can apply on-line:- http://vox.mtcserver3.com/individual-membership/ or if a technophobe like myself, just give us a call (0141 572 1663).  We are not manned every day (funding stuff again), so please bear with us, and keep trying should you not get through.  Can I urge Members to encourage others to join, and spread the word, and help friends and peers to join the fold. Please take a look at our website (www.voxscotland.org.uk ), and if you agree with our principles, aims & wish for a strengthened voice & influence within Mental Health, take a minute and join the fold.  To use an old quote, ‘Ye know it makes sense’

Dougie Pickering – Chairperson.
