I was delighted to be invited to travel to this event as a representative and Champion of the Moray Wellbeing Hub, in our role as community connectors toward improving health and social care in Moray, and challenging the stigma that prevents wellbeing for so many people. News: 24 Hour Film Project for Young People – Edinburgh 30th September

The Mental Health Foundation – Scotland would love to welcome young people aged 10+ to take part in a fun filled 24 hr experience to make a difference for other young people with long term health conditions on 3oth September in Edinburgh. Friends and siblings of young people with long term health conditions are also welcome. Their partners at young scot will facilitate a 24 hr film challenge allowing  participants to try their hand both in front of and behind the camera, while developing skills in social media reporting. Training: Men in Recovery Training Day, 7th October 2017

Men In Recovery are continuing their mission to support men with a history of sexual abuse by offering workshops and training, as well as providing helpful resources on their website – to be relaunched in August. Following their successful Practitioner Training, in Elgin and Inverness, they are now heading east to offer another Training Day with Duncan Craig from Survivors Manchester. Training: Moray wide POWWOW programme announced for Autumn

The team over at the Recovery and Wellness Centre in Elgin have more POWWOW dates for your diary, but these are in venues from Forres to Buckie. These are focused sessions on topics such as sleep, self-esteem, building friendships and coping strategies. They are a great companion to courses such as WRAP and Living Life to the Full, and we have heard positive feedback from those who have attended. We are very excited to announce that we have been shortlisted for our first award – it was a great surprise to be nominated! The shortlisted nominees for the Self Management Awards 2017 have now been announced. You can see the full list here. You may have heard of Ulab and know of its promotion in Scotland by the Scottish Government as an approach toward connecting people around change. This event is a chance to learn a bit more and connect with others from Moray and wider. Even if you have been to tasters before, you are very welcome to come along.
