Reflections: Future ideas for Forres & Moray Wellbeing Hub pop-up

Heidi Uncategorized

Since April 2016 we have been running a pop-up hub in Forres once a month at the Community Cafe in Forres House. The idea was to try a different approach to making conversation and support about mental health accessible – running a discussion and signposting session within the setting of a cafe open to the general public, led by Champions for others who wanting information or support. In some ways this was also a way to try out some of our ideas of how we would like our own physical ‘hub’ to run. An open access cafe space where people …

Resource: ‘dartboard’ tool for WRAP

Heidi Uncategorized

Thank you to Moray Wellbeing Hub Champion Andy for suggesting his version of the ‘dartboard’ exercise we tried at a WRAP catch up earlier this month. ” I couldn’t help but try and think of another way to do the target / dartboard exercise, a way which appealed to my sense of order and simplicity… I’ve attached a sketch/dial with my views… basically each 12th of the clock face could be a WRAP heading (there were conveniently 12 used last night ). Not sure if it would help or hinder with people applying their own ‘scores’ but it would definitely …

On the 20th of October the International Public Policy Institute, University of Strathclyde, hosted former Scottish Secretary Michael Moore for a lecture exploring change and a need for maximum engagement by all of Scotland’s leaders in the private and public sectors. This report from this is now available to read here. Actually, make that very uncertain (which is not to make a judgement on …

Publication: Added Value, Mental Health as a Workplace Asset

Heidi Uncategorized

Mental Health Foundation have just published this research on workplaces and mental health. Certainly this is a topic that we are very passionate about in terms of recognising people as assets with a variety of strengths that can come from life experiences that others, and self-stigma, may label as weakness. “It harms recovery a great deal because they don’t believe you.” We are interested in working with any employers or employees in Moray who are keen to help create a change in their culture that supports the mental health of all employees and challenges the stigma that many people face …

Moray Wellbeing Hub: Business planning meeting, 6th October 2016

Heidi Uncategorized

A group of 13 Champions for the Moray Wellbeing Hub met to discuss the future business structure of the project going forward. We were joined by Kim Siu from tsiMORAY, who helped to facilitate the discussion and give expert advice on social enterprise. Champions shared experiences and strengths that might help us to develop our business. The evening went well and the outcome was that the group decided that the project would form as a Community Interest Company (C.I.C.). We will share updates on this as the work on business structure develops.
